Anytime I get something free is a bonus. Live in FL so sunscreen is essential. Just started using.

My favorite sunscreen from another brand was discontinued, so I was on the hunt for another. I have used Cosmedix for years and love most of their products. I decided to try this sunscreen and so glad I did! It's very lightweight, goes on smooth and feels so moisturizing (my skin is starting to become drier the older I get so I need extra moisture). It does leave a slight white glow, but not nearly as bad as others. It makes my skin look "sparkly" ;-) The scent is also pleasant, very light and reminds me of almonds. Very happy with this product and will continue to purchase. Highly recommend!

As a fair skin, easily sunburned person, finding a great sunscreen is super important to me. However, having acne prone, easily clogged skin, I also need one that's lightweight. This sunscreen easily fits right in to both those categories. The texture is super lightweight and smooth, and leaves the skin nice and glowy. It's super easy to reapply and rubs in well, however I did notice a faint white cast on my skin. Because of that, I've been using this as my every day sunscreen by adding it in with a darker foundation to even out the color, or on no makeup makeup days I add a bronzer and concealer on top, or mix it with a glowy liquid highlighter/bronzer. Also, I really lived how my skin didn't react to this at all! With my regular routine of double cleansing, it completely comes off and doesn't clog my pores. I have been waiting for COSMEDIX to come out with a sunscreen!!! I was extremely happy to try their Zinc Defense SPF 50! I spend a lot of time In the sun and it's important that I wear sunscreen daily. YOU GUYS!!!!! This one is Ahhhhmaaaazzziinnggg!! It's super lightweight, does not feel greasy, absorbs into your skin and does not leave my face white! I usually have a hard time with zinc sunscreens but not this one! I add a pea size and emulsify in my fingertips, and then apply it to my face. I've used this over another serum, or just alone on my skin and I've been happy both ways. COSMEDIX has so many different great products I was super excited to find out that they have a SPF!!! As a Cosmetologist and makeup artist I cannot stress it enough that it is important to use an SPF your skin will thank you. The packaging is very clean and looks very high end. The product itself feels very silky and not like your normal thick SPF. The smell is very mild nothing too strong. I love that you only need a small amount. I was very pleased that it soaked into the skin and didn't feel like it was just sitting on top of the skin. I worked this into my skincare and it worked very well under makeup and other products I was so happy I didn't get any separation or creasing from my makeup. Normally Cosmedix ranks higher on the reviews but the only downfall of this sunscreen is the white overcast and the its consistency is quite fluid. This product only takes a few drops to help spread all over the skin. Be sure to apply onto a fresh cleansed skin for the best protection against the fun with beautifully moisturized skin! If this sunscreen didn't have a whiteish haze, it would be easy to reapply but recommend using a slightly darker foundation color mixed with this sunscreen to create your own tinted foundation. I highly recommend using this sunscreen on its own or as a base for your makeup. I absolutely love the texture of this formula, as it's ultra-weightless, super-soft, and that perfect velvety feel. As an esthetician and makeup artist in the industry for over a decade, I've worked with many people in the Fitzpatrick scale. Being a person of color my self, it's always difficult to find a sunscreen that's fit for my skin tone. I love the consistency of this sunscreen. Unfortunately, this sunscreen didn't fit well with my skin by itself. I used a quarter teaspoon maybe less and applied to my entire face. This sunscreen was easy to spread and didn't feel sticky. It left a white cast on my face. I applied makeup on top with no issue and you couldn't see the white cast. I don't wear a full face of makeup often so this was disappointing. When out in the sun you have to reapply up to two hours. Another take away is it has a strong chemical scent. This doesn't last long but it wasn't pleasing when applying. But using it while in the most harmful of the sun's Ray's surrounded by salt water it works wonderfully, first of all an spf 50 is no joke and what I always recommend for a facial sunscreen if possible, it applies really nicely and doesn't cause that reactive burn once the sun starts hitting your face which alot of sunscreens do.. As much as I love the brand Cosmedix, I wasn't crazy about the Zinc Defense SPF 50. I tend to be sensitive to sunscreens to begin with but this make my skin itch and my eyes burn. Being a beauty professional and in the industry for over twenty five years, I have tried a lot of sunscreens from over-the-counter to physician exclusive brands, sadly this didn't rock my world. It seems a little too oily for my liking but it is light in texture. It must be shaken before application. Leaves a sheer glow and non-whitening. Has all physical ingredients that reflects the sun's harmful rays. I have been a Licensed Esthetician for 22+ years and have definitely tried my share of sunscreens, my favorite being Zinc based sunscreens. I am obsessed with sunscreen and reapply all day long. The Zinc Defense 50spf when I first applied, it left my skin with a white cast. I know that zinc based sunscreens are tricky in that sense and it does happen which I expect but it really didn't fade away. I used very little because it is a thinner consistency but it still left a white cast. It did a good job of keeping me from getting sunburned when I was at a street fair. I am very impressed with Cosmetix products but not sure they hit the mark on this one. Cosmetix is a clean product line and environmentally conscious which is important to me.
