I recently tried Cosmedix's Clarity Skin-Clarifying Serum. The product comes in signature Cosmedix's packaging featuring metallic accents. The bottle itself is white and contains and brighter orange serum. This product worked fantastic for my acne prone skin. The serum itself is light weight, non sticky/greasy, and features retinol and my favorite salicylic acid. These 2 ingredients really fight to eradicate and cleanse the acne and congested pores. What I really find amazing is the fact it doesn't strip your skin and leave it with that dry flaky feeling instead it provides moisture with willow herb and aloe vera! So it also helps calm any current breakouts I have going on. I could notice a difference in my skin after a few consecutive nights use, overall looked more polished, less acne, and more balance to my complexion. I definitely recommend this for anyone with acne prone or oily skin to try adding this product to their skin care routine!

This has quickly become one of my favorite serums since receiving it! For reference I'm a 27 year old Caucasian woman from the Midwest with combination skin that leans dry. I am oily, very acne prone and tend to break out occasionally. The unfortunate part is that every time I break out, I'm left with a dark spot from post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The product was a little smaller than I expected at 30ml. It had a pretty yellow hue. It had a mild to moderate minty, chemical-like smell, which may be an issue for you if you are sensitive to odd smells. When I applied it, it felt hydrating, but it also made my face look oily. It's advertised for oily/combo skin but when I looked it up, I saw has a good bit oils in it (about 5, granted they are mostly anti-inflammatory). I used this religiously for about 2 weeks and this was my result:
1. My skin remained oily, it did not reduce how much oil my skin produced
2. I did noticed my skin was clearer and brighter. It looked less dull and had a glow to it
3. I continued to break out unfortunately, but the acne was quick resolving, unlikes the ones I typically get
4. I used this product in conjunction with the benefit balance (which has an active). When I tried using some of my other products like face wash/toner which have actives (mandelic acid, lactic acid + physical exfoliation), my skin barrier got mildly damaged, and I had to take a break for like 2 days. I don't recommend combining it with other actives

I am a 34 year old with acne prone combination skin. I used the Cosmedix clarity skin clarifying serum in hope of seeing a drastic improvement on some of my problem areas that include my chin and jaw line. I willl say that the serum was great in terms of consistency and how easily it applied to the skin. It is light and works well with other skincare products. However, there was not drastic improvement in my acne on my jawline so I do wish it worked better in those regards. I willl definitely give it some more time to see improvement because overall I love how easy this was to use, did not sting my skin, and layered well with other skincare steps. I'm a 45 year beauty enthusiast that loves all forms of beauty products. This was the first time of learning about COSMEDIX brand and I was super excited to get picked to review the brand. The third item I tried was the Clarity Skin-Clarifying Serum which I used in the am/pm after using the toner. The smell of this serum is probably the worse smelling serum I've ever smelled before. I guess I just like to have a smell good serum to put on my face since I will be smelling it through the day and night. Don't think that you can put this serum on and then go love up on someone, it will scare them away. The benefits though are a different story and it's great for your clogged pores and such. My skin feels so smooth after putting this serum on my face. It does have Retinol in it so always use SPF in the AM and apply it after the moisturizer. I would still recommend this product just make sure you use lotion that cane with it and don't mind the smell too much.

I have been using this product alongside a few other products by ‘Cosmedix' and once again it was definitely a HIT and not a miss. My skin is combination skin and leans toward the oily side with medium to large pores around my T-zone/nose and chin areas and I've had a hard time trying to find something that truly minimizes the look of my pores that doesn't dry me out and/or make my skin greasy feeling. This Clarifying Serum is the perfect remedy for my skins problems, it helps my pores and also evens out my complexion and my redness has also gone down significantly. I also have some acne scars that I cannot get rid of for the life of me and after using this product day and night for a little over 2 weeks the size of the scars has dramatically done down. The color of the serum is also a plus because I love anything yellow!
