Meet Dr. Cleo from Cleo Amelia Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
For the final roundup of National Aesthetician Month, we have Dr. Cleo Amelia from Cleo Amelia Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine. Dr. Cleo completed a doctoral program at Pacific College of Health and Sciences before completing a Diplomate in Canonical Chinese Herbal Medicine through the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine.
Meet Dr. Cleo!
Dr. Cleo is proud to be a running a woman owned and operated small business. She aspires to grow with the Palm Desert community in California. She got into Chinese medicine from her own autoimmune disease and says that a large aspect of her practice is skin health and finding the root cause of her client’s concerns. Dr. Cleo says:
“During the early stages of my autoimmune flares, I experienced a lot of facial flushing and redness. It left me with a lot of broken capillaries, skin sensitivities, and premature aging. My desire to not only feel good but look good led me down this path of combining holistic health with esthetics.”

When asking Dr. Cleo what her favorite professional skin care treatment was to perform on clients, she said that she loves performing Cosmetic Acupuncture, Microneedling, and Nanoneedling.
Acupuncture is the use of fine sterile needles inserted into points specifically chosen to treat each patient’s unique presentation.
Microneedling helps promote the body’s natural healing process while helping to increase collagen and elastin production. Microneedling helps target fine lines, scars, sun damage, texture and tone.
Nanoneedling is similar to Microneedling, but it requires less downtime to heal than Microneedling. Nanoneedling helps draw hydration to the surface of the skin to temporarily help plump, smooth, and tighten the skin.
